Krista Kleban is an abstract artist who creates primarily with watercolor, ink and gouache. She explores themes of impermanence and adaptation through her floral and botanical subject matter, and draws inspiration from the nature around her, vibrant color palettes, and vintage fashions and textiles. Krista works in numerous layers to build texture and contrast in her work, attempting to strike a balance between control and unpredictability with her water-based media. She frequently explores new techniques and materials to build her skillset and evolve her artistic style.
Krista holds a BFA in Jewelry and Metalsmithing from the University of North Texas and an MS in Human Computer Interaction from DePaul University. She lives and works in Chicago, Illinois.
